Use a repeatable sample review to check coverage across colours, movement and sizes before committing to inventory.
Coverage depends on fabric, colour, garment fit, stretching, lighting and what is worn underneath. A dark sample on a standing model does not establish performance for every size and colour. Define the conditions that matter to your customer and keep records. There is no single GSM value that proves every legging is squat-proof.
Request the intended fabric, colour, pattern and construction. Identify whether the sample is a development substitute. Review opaque-looking swatches, but approve coverage on the finished garment too. If the supplier changes the fabric after approval, the original result no longer establishes how the order will perform. Record the sample reference, size, colour and material alongside photos or video.
Use consistent bright lighting and a contrasting underlayer, with the wearer’s consent and privacy protected. Check standing, forward bends, deep squats and lunges. Observe the seat and upper thighs without relying on flattering camera exposure. Repeat the same routine in the relevant sizes and lighter colours. Record pass, concern and fail observations against an agreed visual reference rather than inventing an unsupported laboratory score.
A garment that is too small may stretch beyond its intended fit, while an oversized sample may conceal a problem. Match wearer measurements to the proposed size chart. Check waistband rolling, seam opening and whether the fabric returns to shape after movement. Repeat a review after washing according to the proposed care label. These observations complement coverage checks; they do not replace formal testing where needed.
Document the concern and ask whether the solution is fit adjustment, material replacement or colour restriction. Retest the corrected sample before approving the full order. Agree the bulk inspection method and defect-resolution process in writing. Do not advertise universal squat-proof performance based on a single informal test; make product claims specific and support them with appropriate evidence.
Yes. Review the actual colours you plan to sell, not one colour as a proxy for all others.
A photo is useful for style selection, not a substitute for a controlled sample and movement review.
